Z-Subsonic App Reviews

Doesnt work on iPhone 5

Connects to server fine, but when you try and list folders it immediately crashes. Two stars since it doesnt crash on startup and you can at least connect to server. AFAIK a fix is in the works according to developer, but it takes awhile to drop through the App Store review process.

Poor Development

This app is sad in comparison to iSub or even subStream. To blame subsonic server on the developers lack of ability to figure out how to leverage the folders properly is inappropriate. Skip this app entirely, and go right ot iSub.

Works for me.

I stream all day everyday while working. The just added video streaming is great, been waiting for that one for a while.

Great streaming app

Got this to replace Audiogalaxy. Solid replacement to AG, but more difficult to set up and the UI isnt as snappy. Also, the price is obviously a factor. All that being said - great app to stream your music collection.

App ruins listening experience

App has to be left open and the phone must be unlocked in order for the next song in the queue to play, otherwise I end up waiting for the next song to play for ten minutes and then have to unlock the phone and reopen the app. Also some songs will get dropped completely at the best part and it will go onto the next one. How am I supposed to enjoy music if I am constantly waiting for the song to be dropped. Running on an iPhone 3GS on att in the westside of la with full bars 100% of the time. Totally wasted $5 on app. Id like a refund.

Poor

Doesnt work anymore..... What a waste

Works 100% No problems!

This application has served me well and continues to do so! I would recommend using it with FreeBSD ports as this is what I use personally.

Acceptable SubSonic app

I used Z-Subsonic for quite a while, and it generally worked alright, but there were a few annoyances I had: - It was never clear to me if it was possible to manually cache songs or just show what was in the cache and play it, so the caching feature was never very useful to me. - It does not have a "random album" feature like the web player - After you choose an album to play, the browse view goes back to the top level. This is extremely annoying if you have any folder hierarchy whatsoever. - Has not been updated for quite a while - although it works with newer iPhones, iPads and iOS versions, it does not natively support them. That said, it does manage to play music without crashing, which is more than I can say for some of the other iOS SubSonic apps. In general I find iSub superior in every aspect -- in particular the cache is much better thought out.
